2008 Cuvee Christie
The third release of this wine and my favorite to date. The aromas and flavors bring me directly to the South of France, and I dig it! The blend on this puppy is 75% Grenache (from Camp 4 and Watch Hill Vineyards), 12.5% Syrah (Larner and Thompson Vineyards) and 12.5% Mourvedre (also from Camp 4). The result is a glass that truly screams from the bottle upon opening – I kid you not. It’s already become a wine club and tasting room favorite. Here’s what The Rhone Report had to say about it:
The 2008 Tercero Cuvée Christie, a blend of 75% Grenache, 12.5% Syrah, and 12.5% Mourvedre, has a spicy profile with red currant and wild berry like fruits, underbrush, spice cabinet, earth, and wet stone like minerality all showing and developing on the nose. Medium-bodied on the palate and perhaps the lightest weight in the lineup, with an elegant texture, good balance, lots of acidity, and solid length, this food-friendly blend should continue to evolve positively for a year or two, and have 5-8 years of longevity.
About 200 cases produced.
