2006 Grenache Blanc
This is the very first wine that we produced, and I can honestly tell you that it is still a joy to drink. It was produced back in 2006 and bottled in 2007. After pressing, the juice was transferred to neutral oak barrels for fermentation and aging. It was bottled after about 7 months of aging.
Here is what The Wine Spectator had to say about the wine:
Shows intoxicating aromatics, blending citrus, apple, nut and floral notes, with a whiff of petrol. This is equally alluring in flavor, with a light body and a crisp acidic backbone to its yellow raisin, lemon and green apple flavors.
Note that the petrol aromas are certainly present on the nose, and have probably become more dominent over time. They do not distract from the enjoyment of the wine to me; on the contrary, they add another layer of complexity in my honest opinion.
Only 45 cases produced and only a handful still left!
